Hifadhi project gets support from Danone with Livelihoods program

In Kenya, Livelihoods has partnered with Climate Pal to invest in an ambitious project aiming to improve large scale cook-stoves and to create a dynamic community for reforestation and small-scale agriculture. Stiaan Bester from Danone South Africa came to Kenya to support the Quality Control Manager of the Hifadhi project. See how Livelihoods connects companies and NGOs and how joining forces can make the difference!

Two weeks ago, Stiaan, Danone’s Quality Director in South Africa came to Kenya to assist Mercy, Quality Manager of the Hifadhi project, on the quality control and monitoring of the cookstoves distributed to the women of the Embu district.

Together, they visited families, interviewed the women using the cookstoves, visited the workshop where the stoves are made by local artisans, but also sat down and worked… For both of them, it was a very rich learning experience. Check out Stiaan’s story in the video below !

A beautiful example of how companies and NGO’s can join forces, and how companies can be more than investors: a great and diverse pool of talented and motivated people !
